The Palms has been a Christchurch shopping institution for decades. However, as the retail environment is becoming more challenging, and the online offering is becoming more sophisticated, they needed to do something new to encourage more foot traffic.

The vibrant, tropical, and playful vibe we created was drawn from the strong elements buried in the brand story, amplifying them to create:
- A strong local community feel, inviting customers in
- Cool retro 90’s nostalgia
- A hive of activity from entertainment, dining, shopping and events
- A playful tropical palm tree theme.
Combined, these create a unique vibe for The Palms that felt fresh and exciting while still being true to the brand.

The results? Well, they speak for themselves. After two years of bold communication, and a Centre who are committed to creating a unique experience for its customers, foot traffic has started to increase by just over 10%, a triumph in a very declining retail environment.
